Active Ingredient:
200g/litre Chlorantraniliprole in the form of a Suspension Concentrate.
What Ultima® Is:
- Insecticide for Vegetable Crops.
- Chemical group: Group 28 (diamide).
- Works mainly on caterpillar - type pests (Lepidoptera).
- Think: Diamondback Moth, White Butterfly, Leaf-eating Larvae.
How It Works:
- Acts primarily as a larvicide.
Causes:
- Rapid feeding stop.
- Slow death over a few days.
- Has long residual activity.
- Big advantage: Pests stop damaging Crops very quickly, even if they don’t die instantly.
Crops It’s Used On:
- Broccoli.
- Cabbage.
- Cauliflower.
- Brussels Sprouts.
- Lettuce.
- Spinach.
- Silver Beet.
- Asian Greens.
- Potatoes.
Application Basics:
- Needs good coverage of foliage.
- Often used with a non-ionic surfactant:
- Higher rate for waxy Crops (e.g. Brassicas).
- Lower rate for soft-leaf Crops.
DON'T Add Surfactant If:
- Tank mix already contains one.
- Mixing with liquid fertiliser.
Withholding Periods: (IMPORTANT).
- Brassicas: 7 days before Harvest.
- Leafy Veg (Lettuce, Spinach, etc.): 3 days.
- Potatoes: 14 days.
- Do NOT graze or feed treated Crops to stock.
Bee & IPM Safety:
- Generally IPM-friendly.
- Low impact on beneficial insects if used correctly.
Apply:
- Outside bee foraging times.
- Once spray has dried.
Key Handling Points:
Don’t leave spray mix sitting overnight (can settle).
- Clean sprayer thoroughly after use.
Avoid Contamination Of:
- Waterways.
- Food/Feed areas.
