IOTRIL effectively controls Broadleaved Weeds in Garlic and Onions.
Active Ingredient:
240 g/L IOXYNIL present as the Octanoate Ester in the form of an Emulsifiable Concentrate, also contains 626 g/L Xylene
Target Crops:
Garlic and Onions.
Purpose:
Control of susceptible Broadleaf Weeds.
Major Hazards:
This Product is classified as:
- Flammable liquid.
- Toxic through Skin Contact.
- Harmful if Swallowed.
- Causes Skin Irritation.
- Causes serious Eye Irritation.
- May cause allergic Skin reactions.
- Suspected of damaging fertility or the unborn child.
- May damage organs after repeated exposure.
- Very toxic to aquatic life.
- Harmful to terrestrial vertebrates.
PPE Required When Mixing Or Spraying:
- Impervious Elbow-length Gloves.
- Eye Protection (Goggles or Face Shield).
- Suitable Protective Clothing.
- Wash exposed Skin after use.
- Do not Eat, Drink or Smoke while handling.
Storage:
- Store in original container.
- Keep locked away.
- Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
- Keep away from Heat, Sparks and Flames.
- Shelf life is approximately 2 years when stored correctly.
Spill Response:
- Keep people away.
- Prevent entry into Waterways.
- Absorb with Sand, Earth or Vermiculite.
- Collect for approved disposal.
- Wash contaminated area with Water and Alkaline Detergent.
Disposal:
- Triple rinse containers.
- Add rinsate to spray tank.
- Recycle through Agrecovery where possible.
- Do not contaminate Water.
First Aid:
If Swallowed:
- Rinse Mouth.
- Contact the National Poisons Centre (0800 POISON / 0800 764 766) or a Doctor.
If On Skin:
- Remove contaminated Clothing.
- Wash thoroughly with Soap and Water.
- Seek Medical advice if irritation or Rash develops.
If In Eyes:
- Rinse continuously with clean water.
- Remove contact lenses if possible.
- Obtain medical attention if irritation continues.
Workplace Requirements: (New Zealand).
Because of its hazardous classifications:
- Restricted to workplaces only.
- Workers must receive appropriate training.
- Anyone mixing, loading or applying must be suitably qualified or supervised by a qualified person.
- Spray application records are required when 3 kg or more is applied within 24 hours in situations where it could move beyond the application area.
Environmental Precautions:
- Extremely toxic to Aquatic Organisms.
- Avoid spray drift.
- Prevent contamination of Drains, Waterways and Ponds.
Caution:
Must be used strictly according to label directions.
