PRODUCT INFORMATION
Hemidex 500 WG is for the control of Aphids and Psyllids (TPP) in Potatoes (also Psyllids noted for Tomato/Potato).
Active Ingredient:
500 g/kg FLONICAMID in the form of a water dispersible granule.
Maximum Rate & Applications:
Maximum application rate: 160 g/ha.
Potatoes (aphids): 160 g/ha — single spray or two sprays 7–14 days apart (closer interval for high pressure). Max 2 applications per crop.
Tomato/Potato (psyllids): 160 g/ha — 2 sprays at 7‑day interval. Max 2 applications per crop.
Apply as broadcast spray with sufficient water for thorough coverage without excessive run‑off.
Withholding & Re‑entry:
Withholding Period (Potatoes): 7 days.
Do NOT graze or feed treated Crops to Animals.
Re‑entry: do not enter treated area until spray is dry unless wearing full long‑sleeved cotton overalls and chemical‑resistant gloves.
Hazards & Classifications:
Eye irritation Category 2.
Hazardous to terrestrial vertebrates.
Warning: may cause Eye irritation. Avoid contact with Eyes.
Environmental & Ecotoxicity:
Avoid spray drift to protect beneficial Insects.
Do not apply to Plants likely to be visited by Bees during application, until spray has dried, or where bees are foraging.
Do not apply directly onto, into or over surface water. Avoid contamination of water supplies.
Personal Protection & Handling:
Do not Eat, Drink or Smoke while using.
Avoid skin/eye contact and inhalation of spray mist.
When mixing/applying wear long‑sleeved cotton overalls, gloves and face shield. Remove protective clothing and wash hands/face before meals and after work.
Store in original container, tightly closed, locked, dry, cool area away from Foodstuffs.
Follow NZS 8409.
Mixing & Compatibility:
Add product to partly filled tank, agitate while adding remaining water.
Add suitable adjuvant to prevent foaming.
Compatible with most commonly used Fungicides and Insecticides.
First Aid & Emergency:
If Swallowed:
DO NOT induce vomiting; contact National Poisons Centre 0800 POISON (0800 764 766) or a doctor.
If Skin/Hair Contact:
Remove contaminated clothing and rinse.
If Inhaled:
Move person to fresh air. If necessary seek medical attention.
Emergency specialist advice: 0800 CHEMCALL / 0800 243 622 (24 h).
Disposal & Spill:
Triple rinse empty container and add rinsate to spray tank; recycle via AgRecovery or dispose at approved landfill.
For spills, wear PPE, prevent entry to waterways, absorb with inert material and dispose via approved hazardous waste facility.
Restrictions & Resistance:
Do not use on Animals.
It is an offence to cause residues exceeding relevant MRLs.
Novel mode of action (Group 29).
To minimise resistance risk, follow label directions and rotate with Insecticides of different modes of action if further control is required.
