Ivento Fungcide 5L (Botritis)
RANM5
What Ivento Is:
- A Fungicide targeting Oomycete (“Water Mould”) diseases.
Active Ingredient:
Contains 400 g/litre Cyazofamid in the form of a suspension concentrate.
- Fungicide Group 21.
- Same active + group as Ranman → they are basically equivalent chemistry.
What It Controls: (From the NZ label).
- Late Blight (Potatoes).
- Downy Mildew (Onions).
- These are classic wet-weather diseases (Phytophthora / Downy Mildew).
How It Works:
- Protectant Fungicide → must be applied before infection.
- Targets Oomycetes only (not general fungi).
- If disease is already well established, it won’t rescue the crop well..
Application Basics: (Simplified).
Rate.
- 200 ml per hectare (max rate).
Timing:
- Spray before disease appears when conditions favour infection (humid, wet).
- Repeat every 7–10 days.
Limits.
- Max 6 applications per crop.
- No more than 3 consecutive sprays before rotating chemistry.
- That rotation rule is critical.
Withholding Periods:
- Potatoes 7 days.
- Onions 14 days.
Key Safety Warnings:
- May cause skin allergy.
- Very toxic to aquatic life.
- Keep 4 m buffer from waterways.
Other Restrictions:
- Do not apply directly to water.
- Ground application only (no aerial).
- Do not graze treated crops.
Resistance Management: (VERY Important).
- Group 21 → single-site mode of action = resistance risk.
Label requires:
- Max 3 consecutive sprays.
- Then switch to another fungicide group.
- Overuse will make it stop working—fast.
Bottom line:
- Ivento = preventative Fungicide for Blight & Downy Mildew.
- Strong, modern chemistry.
- Works best early and in programmes.
- Must be rotated carefully.
- Not useful for most other diseases.
Caution:
Must be used strictly according to label directions.
