Duwett Super Spreader 20L
DUWE20
What Du-Wett Does:
An organosilicone/organic-fluid non-ionic surfactant.
Improves spreading, wetting, spray coverage and deposition of fungicides, insecticides, foliar nutrients, and certain herbicides.
Designed particularly for low-volume/concentrated spraying, including aerial application.
The label states it can reduce spray drift by up to 25% when used as recommended.
Key Application Rules:
- Use Du-Wett with low water volumes—roughly 25% or less of the normal water volume to run-off, depending on the crop.
- Too much water can cause excessive run-off and poorer performance.
- Do not use air-induction nozzles.
- Add Du-Wett after the other agrichemicals are thoroughly mixed.
- Do not add other adjuvants unless specifically recommended on the label/by an agronomist.
Important Rates:
- Rates depend on crop, how easily the crop wets, water volume and the total amount of agrichemical in the tank.
Some Examples:
- Easy-to-wet vegetables/arable crops: generally 100–400 mL/ha depending on tank load.
- Hard-to-wet vegetables/arable crops: generally 200–600 mL/ha.
- Vines/brambles: approximately 150–600 mL/ha, depending on target and spray system.
Kiwifruit:
- Dormant: 500 mL/ha.
- Green tip–early spring: 400 mL/ha.
- Pre-flowering/full canopy: 400 mL/ha.
- Post-harvest to leaf drop: 500 mL/ha.
- Post-leaf-drop scar protection: 750 mL/ha.
- Rainfastness — important.
- Du-Wett has only partial resistance to light rainfall.
- If rain or overhead irrigation is expected within 5 days, the label says to substitute Du-Wett Weathermax or Bond Xtra at twice the Du-Wett chart rate to improve rain resistance.
Mixing:
- Half-fill tank with water and start agitation.
- Add anti-foamer if required.
- Add the agrichemicals/foliar nutrients according to their labels.
- Once thoroughly mixed, shake Du-Wett well and add it last.
PH And Compatibility:
- Best spreading/wetting occurs between pH 5 and 9.
- Below pH 5 or above pH 9, Du-Wett can break down and wetting performance can suffer.
- If used with LI-700 or LI-1000, the label specifies adding an extra 100 mL Du-Wett/ha to the chart rate.
- Because different agrichemical formulations can behave differently, the label recommends checking compatibility/spreading before using new tank mixes.
Safety:
- Warning: causes serious eye irritation.
- Toxic to aquatic life with long-lasting effects.
- Wear eye protection and avoid release into waterways.
- Keep away from children.
- The label says to test a small area first where crop safety/phytotoxicity is uncertain.
Major Restriction:
- Do NOT use Du-Wett on ornamental crops, including cut-flower crops, foliage plants and nursery plants.
Bottom Line:
- Du-Wett is primarily a low-volume spray wetter/spreader, not a pesticide itself. Its main purpose is to improve coverage and deposition of the pesticide or nutrient you're already applying. The correct rate depends heavily on the crop and the amount/type of chemical in the tank.
