Active ingredient: 300g/litre Clopyralid as the Amine Salt in the form of a Soluble Concentrate.
What It Controls:
Strong on hard-to-kill Broadleaf Weeds:
- Clover.
- Californian Thistle.
- Yarrow.
- Plantain, Ragwort, Daisies, etc.
Also Used In:
- Pasture.
- Cereals.
- Brassicas.
- Maize.
- Forestry & Orchards.
Legal Status (important).
- NOT for Home Gardens.
- Must be used by an "Approved Handler".
- This is a professional-use Agrichemical, not a casual Weedkiller.
Key Hazards:
From the label + SDS:
- Toxic to aquatic life (long-lasting).
- Very toxic to soil organisms.
- Harmful to terrestrial animals.
Also:
- Avoid spray drift.
- Do not contaminate waterways.
- Do not spray onto water.
PPE & Handling:
When Mixing/Applying:
- Gloves.
- Overalls.
- Boots.
- Eye protection.
Avoid:
- Skin contact.
- Inhalation.
- Eating/drinking while spraying.
How It Works:
- Absorbed through Leaves, Stems, Roots.
- Moves through plant sap.
- Causes distorted growth → death over weeks.
- Not instant—this is a slow Systemic Herbicide.
- The BIG issue: residues, this is the most important part of the label.
- Sensitive crops (major restriction).
After Spraying:
- Wait 12 weeks before planting.
- Peas, Beans, Clover.
- Potatoes, Tomatoes.
- Carrots, Cucurbits.
- At higher rates wait 6–12 months.
- Always test plant if unsure.
- Compost & Plant material.
- Do NOT use treated Plant material for Compost or Mulch.
- Do NOT use straw from treated Crops for Compost contaminated Compost can kill Crops months later.
Pasture Warning: (VERY IMPORTANT).
- Damages Clover badly.
Even Low Rates:
- Suppress Clover for 2–6 months.
Higher Rates:
- Remove Clover completely, If you rely on Clover → this matters a lot.
Application Basics:
- Apply to actively Growing Weeds.
Best Results:
- Good moisture.
- Warm conditions.
Poor Results:
- Drought.
- Cold/stressed plants.
- Avoid spraying if drift likely.
Typical Rates: (General Guide).
From Label Examples:
- Clover: ~0.7 L/ha.
- Thistles / Yarrow: ~1 L/ha.
- Tough Weeds (Ragwort etc) up to 2 L/ha.
- Spot spraying ~100 mL per 100 L water (varies by Weed).
- Forestry & Heavy Weeds Can be used at very high rates (10–25 L/ha) for Woody Weeds.
- Often mixed with other Herbicides.
- May cause temporary tree distortion.
Resistance Management:
- Repeated use → resistant Weeds possible.
- Rotate with other Herbicide Groups.
Bottom Line:
Vivendi® 300 is very effective on Thistles, Clover, and persistent weeds, widely used in Pasture and Cropping. But easy to damage future Crops or Compost systems.
- Not suitable for casual/home use.
Caution:
Must be used strictly according to label directions.
