Tristar WG 500g (Herbicide)

Tristar® WG is effective at controling Broadleaf Weeds in Wheat, Barley and Oats, such as Clover, Yarrow, Thistles, Ragwort, Sheep’s Sorrel, Chickweed, Spurrey, Wild Turnip, Redroot, Shepherd’s Purse, Fathen, Scarlet Pimpernel, Twin Cress and Wireweed and for use in conservation tillage.
Active Ingredient:
750g/kg Tribenuron-methyl in the form of a water dispersible granule.

Targets a wide range of Broadleaf Weeds in Cereals:

Weak Or Not Controlled:
- Grass Weeds.
- Some tougher species (e.g. Cleavers, Speedwell unless mixed).
Where It’s Used:
- Wheat, Barley, Oats (Post-Emergence).
Also Used In:
- Conservation tillage / burn-down mixes before planting.
- Often tank-mixed with glyphosate for better knockdown in pre-plant situations.
How It Works: (Key Point).

Result:
- Growth stops quickly.
- Visible symptoms take 1–3 weeks.
Typical Rates & Use:
- Around 15–25 g/ha in cereals.
- Up to 40 g/ha in pre-plant mixes with glyphosate.
Application Tips:
- Apply to young, actively growing Weeds.
- Always add a non-ionic surfactant unless already included.
- Use ≥ 60 L/ha water.
Important Crop & Rotation Warnings:
Do NOT:
- Use before Fodder Beet planting.
- Sow sensitive crops too soon after application.
- Avoid spraying crops under stress (drought, frost, disease) → risk of crop damage.
Resistance Management: (critical).
- Group B herbicides = high resistance risk.

- Rotate with different Herbicide Groups.
- Use tank mixes where possible.
- Don’t rely on repeated use alone.
- Many Weeds globally are already resistant to ALS herbicides.
