RELENT
You Save: $25.80 (7%)
Active Ingredient:
100g/litre Pyriproxyfen EC.
How it works: (key point).
- Mimics juvenile hormone in insects.
Stops:
- Egg development.
- Larvae → adult transition.
- No effect on adults or pupae.
- So control is slow but long-lasting — you won’t see immediate kill.
Application:
- Typically used as a high-volume spray to runoff.
Label guidance:
- Apply evenly with good coverage.
- Greenhouse use only (strict restriction).
Example Regulatory Guidance:
- Around 500 mL/ha.
- Max 2 applications per crop.
Resistance Management:
- Group 7 insecticide.
Rules:
- Max 2 applications per crop per year.
- Rotate with other modes of action.
IPM Compatibility: (Important).
Generally:
- Low toxicity to parasitoids (Encarsia, etc).
- Safe for bumblebees (avoid spraying during active foraging).
- Harmful to ladybird larvae → avoid if relying on biological control.
Safety & Environmental Hazards:
- Very toxic to aquatic life.
- Very toxic to terrestrial invertebrates.
Causes:
- Skin irritation.
- Serious eye damage.
Key Precautions:
- Avoid spray drift.
- Do not contaminate waterways.
- Greenhouse-only use.
Handling & Storage:
- Combustible liquid → keep away from heat.
- Triple rinse containers before disposal.
- Use AgRecovery where possible.
So:
- Relent = insect control (whitefly).
- The others you shared = Fungicides (Disease Control).
Bottom line:
- Best used early in Whitefly Cycle (Eggs/Larvae stage).
- Works slowly but disrupts population build-up.
- Strong fit in IPM programmes, but watch beneficial insects.
Caution:
Must be used strictly according to label directions.
