​Agritone 750 for the control of Broadleaf Weeds, especially Thistles, Buttercup and other hard-to-kill Weeds in established Pasture, Cereals, Grass‑Seed Crops and Amenity Turf.
Active Ingredient
750 g/L MCPA as the Dimethylamine Salt in the form of a Soluable Concentrate.
Weeds Controlled & Resistance:
Controls many Broadleaf Weeds:
- Ragwort.
- Thistles.
- Buttercups.
- Dandelion.
- Plantain.
- Nettles.
- Some species require specific timing or repeat treatments.
- Resistance possible — rotate modes of action and use tank mixes where appropriate (see resistance.nzpps.org).
Application & Rates: (High Level).
- Cereals (barley, wheat, ryecorn): 0.75–1.5 L/ha (from 5‑leaf to start of jointing).
- Oats: 0.75–1.5 L/ha (from 1‑leaf to start of jointing).
- Grass seed: 0.75–1.8 L/ha (after shutting up).
- Linseed: 1 L/ha (to flower bud).
- Pastures/ lawns/playing fields: 1.5–3 L/ha (see label; use Thistrol® Plus on new pastures for clover protection). Knapsack: 25–50 mL/10 L; Mistblower: 130 mL/10 L.
- Use lower rates on seedlings, higher rates on larger/hardened Weeds; avoid spraying stressed plants.

Hazards & Classifications:
- GHS/HSNO: Acute oral Category 4.
- Serious eye damage Category 1.
- STOT (repeated) Category 1.
- Hazardous to soil organisms; Terrestrial vertebrates; Aquatic acute & chronic Category 1.
- Very toxic to aquatic life and soil environment.
- Corrosive (causes serious eye damage).
Regulatory & Handling:
- Approved HSNO HSR000381. Registered ACVM P7493.
- Approved/Qualified Handlers required (Qualified Contractor/Person/Loader as applicable).
- Records of use per NZS 8409 required.
Precautions & PPE:
- Avoid Swallowing, Inhalation, Skin/Eye Contact.
- Wear Eye Protection, Waterproof Gloves, Boots and Overalls.
- Do not Eat/Drink/Smoke while using.
- Hard‑graze to reduce Clover damage prior to spraying.
Environmental & Drift Control:
- Do not apply into/onto water.
- Prevent contamination of water supplies.
- Use low‑drift nozzles, maintain recommended water rates (ground 100–300 L/ha; aerial 30–100 L/ha), avoid spraying when susceptible vegetation within 0.5 km may be affected.
Mixing & Equipment:
- Pour into partly filled tank, agitate while filling and during spraying.
- Decontaminate equipment per phenoxy procedures before using on sensitive Crops.
First Aid & Spillage:
If Swallowed:
- DO NOT induce vomiting; contact National Poisons Centre 0800 POISON (0800 764 766).
If Inhaled:
- Move to fresh air; if not breathing commence artificial respiration (mouth‑to‑nose).
Skin:
- Flush with water.
Eyes:
- Rinse thoroughly.
Spills:
- Contain, absorb with inert material, dispose to approved landfill; prevent water entry.
Disposal & Storage:
- Store in original container, locked, cool, dry, away from food/seeds/fertilisers.
- Stores ≥100 L require signage/secondary containment; >100 L require emergency response plans.
- Triple rinse containers; recycle via AgRecovery or dispose at approved facility.
Caution:
Must be used strictly according to label directions.
