Description:
● A Pipe Tee is a "T" shaped fitting with female threads on all three ends.
● Its a pipe fitting in the shape of a "T" with three ports, one inlet and two outlets.
Used for:
● A Pipe Tee, also called a T Pipe, is used to connect or divide the flow in a piping system.
● Used to connect three male threads at a right angles to each other.
● Can be used to join two pipes into one outlet, or to split one inlet into two outlets.
● Can also be used to join a fitting to a pipe run at 90 degrees.
● Most commonly used to connect three pipes at 90 degree angle to each other.
Advantage:
● The advantage of a Pipe T Fitting is that it can connect three pipes together at right angles to each other.
● Can be used as a "mixer" when two inlets are combined into one outlet.
● Can be used as a "diverter" when one inlet is divided into two outlets.
To Install:
● Thread the female threads onto male threads of the same size.
Sizing:
● A T-Fitting is sized according to the size of the thread it will connect to.
● For Example: a 1/2" pipe tee will thread onto a 1/2" male threads.
