Active Ingredient:
Contains 200g/litre Myclobutanil in the form of an Oil in Water Emulsion.
What It Is:
Validus® 200EW = Systemic Fungicide (moves inside the plant).
- Fungicide Group: Group 3 (DMI / triazole).
What It Controls:
Main Targets:
Powdery Mildew.
- Grapes.
- Squash.
- Apples.
- Pears.
Black Spot .
- Apple/Pear Scab.
- Strong on Mildew Diseases, which is its specialty.
How It Works: (Key Difference).
- Systemic → absorbed into plant tissue.
- Curative → can stop early infections.
- Protectant → also prevents new infection.
Application Basics:
Grapes.
- 6–12.5 mL / 100 L water.
- Minimum: 125 mL/ha.
Timing:
- First spray at flowering.
- Repeat every 14–21 days.
Apples & Pears.
- 24 mL / 100 L water.
Apply:
- From pink stage → second cover.
- Every 7–10 days.
- Must be mixed with a protectant Fungicide.
Squash (inedible peel).
- 200 mL/ha, BUT Must be mixed with another Fungicide (e.g. Proxima).
- Interval: 14 days.
- Max: 3 sprays/season.
Withholding Periods:
- Grapes: 28 days.
- Apples/Pears: 35 days.
- Squash: 14 days.
Grazing Restrition: (Important).
- Do NOT graze treated areas.
- Do not feed treated Crops to stock.
Safety & Hazards:
- Harmful if swallowed.
- Serious eye irritant.
- Suspected reproductive toxin.
- Toxic to aquatic life.
PPE is essential:
- Gloves, eye protection, spray safety gear.
- Avoid drift into waterways.
Resistance Management: (VERY Important).
Group 3 fungicide → high resistance risk if overused.
Limits:
- Max ~4 DMI sprays per season.
Always:
- Rotate modes of action.
- Mix with protectants in Apples/Pears.
Bottom Line:
Strong systemic Mildew Fungicide.
- Works preventatively AND early curatively.
Best Used:
- Early in disease cycle.
- In a programme with protectants (like Valeo).
