PRODUCT INFORMATION
Ridazon® is a selective pre and post-emergence herbicide providing a good residual activity against a wide range of annual broadleaf weeds and some annual grasses, with a contact action on a wide range of weeds up to the 2 leaf stage. Adequate soil moisture is required for good residual activity. The post-emergent effect can be enhanced with the addition of Result® Spraying oil at recommended rates. Ridazon® remains effective in the soil for several weeks.
Active Ingredient:
430g/litre Chloridazon in the form of a suspension concentrate.
What It Controls:

Best performance = small, actively growing weeds (≤ 2-leaf stage).
How It Works:
- Root uptake (residual control) + contact action on small weeds.
Controls:
- Germinating weeds (soil activity).
- Very young emerged weeds.
Key Point:
- Needs soil moisture (rain/irrigation) for residual activity.
- Residual lasts several weeks.
Application Guidelines: (General).
- Spray volume: 300–600 L/ha.
- Ground-based application only.
Use higher water rates on heavier soils Fodder Beet / Red Beet.
Pre-emergence:
- 7 – 10.5 L/ha.
- Apply immediately after planting.
- Needs rain/irrigation within ~7 days.
Post-emergence:
- 7 – 9 L/ha.
- Apply after first true leaf.
- Add Result® Spraying oil for better knockdown.
Onions:
- 1–2 L/ha Ridazon + chlorpropham mix + Result® Spraying oil.
- Apply at flag stage, repeat 2–3 weeks later.
- Target weeds ≤ 4 leaf stage.
Crop Safety Notes:
- Risk of crop damage on light soils.
- Requires careful timing (especially post-emergence).
Resistance Management:
- Group C1 herbicide.
- Risk of resistance with repeated use.
- Rotate with different herbicide modes of action.
Safety & Environmental Hazards:
- May cause allergic skin reaction.
- Very toxic to aquatic life (long lasting).
- Very toxic to soil organisms.
Key Precautions:
- Avoid drift and runoff into waterways.
- Do not apply directly to water.
- Use full PPE when handling.
Handling & Storage:
- Shake well before use.
- Add to tank with agitation.
- Triple rinse containers → AgRecovery.
Bottom Line:
- Ridazon = specialist Beet/Onion Herbicide.
- Strong on early-season weed control.
Works Best When:
- Applied pre-emergence or very early post.
- Moisture activates soil residual.
Think of it as a foundation Herbicide for clean Crop establishment, not a rescue spray for large weeds.
Caution:
Must be used strictly according to label directions.
