PRODUCT INFORMATION
Optimite® is a miticide used for the control of Two-Spotted Mite in Pipfruit and Six-Spotted Mite in Capsiums, and Whitefly in Cucumbers and Tomatoes.
Active Ingredient:
240g/litre Spiromesifen SC
What It Controls:
- Two-spotted Spider Mite.
- Greenhouse Whitefly.
- Tomato/Potato Psyllid (TPP).
Key Crops:
- Capsicums.
- Cucumbers.
- Greenhouse Tomatoes.
- Field Tomatoes & Potatoes.
How It Works:
- Contact + Translaminar Activity.
- Moves into leaf tissue but not fully systemic.
Targets:
- Nymphs/immature stages primarily.
- Also reduces egg viability.
Practical Meaning:
- Not a fast knockdown.
- Best used early in pest lifecycle.
Application Rates & Timing:(General limits)
- Max rate 600 mL/ha.
- Max applications 2 per crop per year.
Examples:
Greenhouse Crops 60 mL / 100 L water per 1,000 m².
Field Tomatoes/Potatoes 600 mL/ha.
Timing:
- Apply at first sign of pest.
- Repeat after ~7 days.
- Use as part of a programme (not rescue spray).
Mixing & Programme:(Compatible with).
- Fungicides.
- Knockdown insecticides.
- Surfactants.
Important:
- If adult psyllids present, add a knockdown insecticide.
