PRODUCT INFORMATION
Vandia® 250EC is a Systemic Fungicide for the control of Stripe Rust, Scald, Leaf Rust, Crown Rust, Powdery Mildew and Speckled Leaf Blotch in Cereals, Rye Grass and certain Vegetable Crops.
Active Ingredient:
contains 250g/litre Triademenol plus 1-Methyl 2-pyrrollidinone. in the form of an Emulsifiable Concentrate.
What It Controls:
Broad-spectrum Disease Control across multiple Crops:
Cereals (Wheat, Barley, Oats).
- Stripe Rust.
- Leaf Rust.
- Powdery Mildew.
- Speckled Leaf Blotch.
- Scald (Barley).
Other Crops:
- Ryegrass Seed → Rusts.
- Peas → Powdery Mildew.
- Onions → White Rot.
It’s a workhorse Fungicide for Cereal Disease programs.
How It Works:
Systemic → absorbed and moves within the plant.
Has protectant + curative activity.
Works Best:
- At first sign of disease or slightly before infection risk.
- Not just preventative—it can stop early infections, like Validus.
Application Basics:
Cereals (Wheat, Barley, Oats):
- Rate: 500 mL/ha.
Timing:
- Apply at first Disease appearance.
- Repeat after 3–4 weeks if needed.
Peas:
- Rate: 250 mL/ha.
Timing:
- At flowering or first Disease.
- Repeat after ~14 days if needed.
Onions (White Rot):
- Rate: 1.5 L/ha.
Programme:
- Start 6–8 weeks after sowing.
- Then 2 more sprays at 3–4 week intervals.
Water Rates:
- Ground: ≥200 L/ha.
- Aerial: ≥50 L/ha.
- Use higher water for dense Crops.
Withholding Periods:
- Cereals: 49 days.
- Ryegrass Seed: 35 days.
- Peas: 28 days.
- Onions: 35 days.
Key Restrictions:
- Max 3 DMI Fungicide applications per season (including seed treatments).
- Do NOT use on Animals.
- Important because it’s Group 3 (same resistance group as Validus®).
Safety & Hazards:
- Harmful if swallowed.
- Causes skin + eye irritation.
- May damage fertility/unborn child.
- Toxic to aquatic life & environment.
Strict PPE Required:
- Gloves, eye protection, spray gear.
- Avoid spray drift and waterways.
Resistance Management: (VERY important).
- Group 3 = moderate–high resistance risk.
Rules:
- Max 3 sprays per crop/season.
- Rotate with other Fungicide groups.
- Don’t rely on it alone.
