What it controls Primarily used for:
- Docks (Rumex spp.) Main Target.
- Bracken Fern.
- Yellow Bristle Grass (registered use).
It’s especially valuable in established pasture where you want to keep:
- Ryegrass.
- Clover.
- Tall Fescue.
Where it can be used:
- Established Pasture.
- Lucerne / Clover.
- Forestry (Bracken Control, Tree Release).
- Non-Cropping Areas / Roadsides.
Key use points (practical)
Apply to actively growing weeds (best results in spring), Needs good leaf coverage for uptake.
Avoid spraying:
- Before rain (within ~12 hours).
- During drought stress or frost.
- Slow acting – full control can take weeks to months.
Grazing:
No strict withholding period, but best to leave ~1–3 weeks for effectiveness.
Safety & hazards
- Classified as harmful + ecotoxic.
- Can irritate skin and eyes.
- Possible reproductive/development effects with repeated exposure.
- Toxic to aquatic life & some plants (spray drift risk).
Strengths
- Selective → won’t wipe out pasture grasses.
- Effective on hard-to-kill docks (deep taproot).
- Useful in mixed pasture systems.
Limitations
- Slow kill compared to knockdown herbicides.
- Needs good timing and growth conditions.
- Can require repeat applications on large mature docks.
