PRODUCT INFORMATION
Piritek® is a fast-acting contact Insecticide which is partially systemic and has a strong fumigant action within the crop.
"What do I use to control Aphids in my Orchard and Crops"? Piritek® is designed specifically for the control of Aphids in Stonefruit, and in many Vegetable and Cereal crops.
Active ingredient:
500g/kg Pirimicarb WG.
Target Pests:
Controls a wide range of aphids, including:
- Green Peach Aphid.
- Cabbage Aphid.
- Potato Aphid.
- Pea Aphid.
- Cereal Aphids.
- Also effective on resistant aphid populations (OP & pyrethroid resistant).
How It Works:
- Contact + translaminar + fumigant activity.
- Partially systemic → moves within leaf tissue.
- Works especially well in warm conditions.
- Fast knockdown of aphids.

- Strong control inside dense canopies (fumigant effect).

General Cropping (aphids).
- 200–250 g/ha (light crops).
- 250 g/ha standard.
- 500 g/ha (potatoes).
Example Crop Use.

- 200–250 g/ha.
- Use lower rate in sparse crops.
Vegetables (lettuce, brassicas, tomatoes).
- 250 g/ha.
- Water: 400–700 L/ha.
Cucurbits.
- 250 g/ha.
- Apply:
- During flowering.
- Repeat 10–14 days later.
Potatoes.
- 500 g/ha.
- Water: 200–400 L/ha.
Withholding Periods:
- Most vegetables: 3 days.
- Cucurbits: 7 days.
- Potatoes: Nil.
- Grazing: 7 days stand-down.
Bee & Beneficial:(Safety).
- Selective to aphids.
- Generally safe on beneficial insects.
BUT:
- Avoid spraying when bees are actively foraging.
- Spray evening in flowering crops.
Resistance Management:
- Group 1 → high resistance risk if overused.
- Rotate with IGRs (e.g. Pilan®) and other MOA insecticides.
- Don’t rely on Piritek alone in a programme.
